Istanbul journal: ACROSS TURKEY - By Bus

So there we were, in ancient Sultanahmet, with its unfamiliar smellsand sounds, and that exotic skyline of domes and minarets silhouetted against the evening sky. Immediately in front of us was the Blue Mosque and Aya Sofia and,right across the road from where the bus had stopped, the famed travellersmeeting place, the Pudding Shop on Divan Yolu. At last we felt like we were really in the East. But, after three days and nights on the (notso Magic) bus from AmsterdamI was exhausted and seriously cranky. Even so, it felt exciting to be in Turkey.
