I went to Gallipoli. I saw the shores where the troops landed and the high rocky plains they climbed. It was emotional to be there and see so many tomb stones named and unnamed and know ther eis a connection to my country and my people. you begin to understand teh conflict and the emotions behind these neighbouring countries who experience this constantly. It was very different though, sweet because the Turks and the Australian-New Zealand, English and Canadians all share a mutual respect for the event even though they were fighting on different sides.
